Who doesn’t love Commedia dell’Arte? This intensive hands-on workshop led by Pazzi Lazzi artistic director Chiara Durazzini, is suitable for all performers: from the most seasoned Shakespearean actor to the physical theatre lover, as well as dancers, drama teachers and anyone else who would like to learn about Commedia and its archetypes, which are the base of modern comedy and are still alive today in the Italian tradition. We will include an in-depth study of the physical and personality traits of the stock characters and experiment with masks, “lazzi”, Grammelot and improvisation. Classes are very physical so please dress comfortably and be ready to move!
The 8-hour workshop is divided over 3 days: Fri. May 5, 7:30-9:30 – Sat. May 6, 4:30-7:30 – Sun. May 7, 1:30 – 4:30
